Grow as colorful, tasty baby leaves to add to salads (8-14 days) or allow to grow into small compact purple red heads, ideal in coleslaw or pickled (75-95 days). Best sown in early spring or in late summer for fall and winter harvesting. Mature heads store well in cool weather.
