Mary Washington is the standard for Asparagus because it produces wonderful tasting spears with tender stalks and produces heavy yields.The tasty spears are green with purple coloring at the tips.

Asparagus is a beautiful fern-like plant growing up to four feet high with berries ready for next year seed. Once established Asparagus requires little care and can handle drought very well. The seeds are easy to start and can be started directly in the soil in early spring.

It takes Asparagus two years to mature and full harvesting can be done in the third year.

Asparagus is a long lived perennial that produces abundantly for many years. We have grown Asparagus that has lived for over 25 years!
