The most popular Heirloom beetroot since 1892.

It is highly nutritional and excellent for canning, pickling, juicing, and eating fresh.

It can be harvested for baby beets or grown on for full size.

All parts of the plant are edible. The leaves can be picked young to eat raw in salads, or the large leaves can be harvested and cooked like Chard or Kale.

Detroit Dark Red is a full, deep red globe beetroot with a dark green top. It is frost tolerant and can be direct sown four weeks before the last frost date.

This was a great buying experience. I ordered several seeds but so far the only one's which i have planted are the Goji berry seeds and aunt molly's ground cherry, both of which have successfully germinated
