Blue Lake Pole is a tender, heirloom, stringless French bean producing heavy yields throughout the growing season. The plants will grow between 6 and 7 feet high and will require support.
The pods are slender and grow between four and six inches long. They have a bluish-green color with small soft white beans inside the pods. The flavor is crisp and delicate. The beans are ready to harvest in 70 days.
Blue Lake is an excellent bean choice for freezing and canning, although they are also wonderful to eat raw fresh from the vine or cooked. They store very well in the fridge.
